Two drug traders held with intoxicating tablets in Dinajpur

DINAJPUR, Dec 18 (BSS): Police in a drive arrested two alleged drug peddlers with 22,000 pieces of smuggled intoxicating tablets worth about Taka 5 million (50 lakh) from Kamdia road area under Ghoragjat upazila of the district on
Wednesday.
The arrested persons were - Abu Hayat, 37, of Gobindaganj upazila in Gaibandha district, and Akhinur Islam, 35, a resident of Mitali-Guchhagram in Ghoraghat upazila.
On a tip-off, a
team of police intercepted a CNG-run auto rickshaw in the area around 3.30 pm and arrested the duo. Huge Indian tablets were recovered after searching their auto-rickshaw,
said Nazmul Haque, Officer-in-Charge of Ghoraghat Police Station.
A case was filed in this connection, the OC said.
