Two killed in Meherpur road crash

MEHERPUR June 25 (BSS): Two motorcycle riders were killed in a road accident in front of the Forest Department of the district town here on Wednesday morning.

The deceased were identified as Mahafuzur Rahman Kallol, 48, son of Hasan Ali, a resident of Gaharpur village in Sadar upazila and also an assistant engineer of Gangni Upazila Public Health Department, and HSC examinee Akmal Hossain, 20, son of Abdus Samad of Sheikhpara in Meherpur town.

The accident took place around 10.30 am when a motorcycle collided head-on with a private car in the area while overtaking the car, leaving both the bike riders critically injured on the spot, said Mesbah Uddin, officer-in-charge (OC) of Meherpur Sadar Police Station.
