A green revolution for Dhaka

Prior to the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) election, the then-mayoral candidate Atiqul Islam promised that he would build a green Dhaka if elected. I hope as the new DNCC mayor, he will be able to make the city green and clean.

Most of the developed cities of the world have already embraced green revolution. Green revolution is all about creating environment-friendly products and generating awareness among the common people about how to protect the environment. Green products are also eco-friendly. Everyone should realise the dangers waiting for us in the future if the natural environment and biodiversity continues to be threatened in the current manner. It is time everyone resorted to recycle, reuse, reduce; minimised waste and adopted a healthy lifestyle for ourselves and the environment.
