A mixed year for Bangladesh cricket

December 25, 2018 00:00:00

The Tigers lost the twenty series against West Indies after winning the Test and ODI series. They lost the third ODI against West Indies by 50 runs and lost the series by 2-1. West Indies finally got a trophy to take home - and the shortest version is their favourite! West Indies are one of the best teams in the world of twenty-twenty cricket. Opener Evin Lewis' blistering 36-ball 89 knock helped West Indies to pile up a big total. Lewis was unstoppable and his shots were very entertaining. The home crowd witnessed an entertaining innings by the West Indian. They could have easily made 250 but the Bangladeshi bowlers checked the rate with quick wickets and stopped West Indies at 190 runs. Bangladesh lost the momentum after the no-ball controversy. The poor umpiring spoiled the beauty of the match.

2018 was a mixed year for Bangladesh. Their high point was reaching the final of the Asia Cup. At the final, they lost to India by 3 wickets in a thrilling match. I hope Bangladesh will have a much better year ahead! All the best to the Tigers for 2019!
