LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

Climate change and our responsibility

August 31, 2025 00:00:00

Climate change is one of the most significant problems in today's world. We can see its effect everywhere. The weather is no longer typical. Sometimes it rains too much, sometimes there is no rain at all. Summers are hotter, winters are shorter, and floods or cyclones happen more often.

Human activities are the main reason. We cut down trees, use excessive plastic, and burn fuel in cars and factories. These actions produce smoke and harmful gases that contribute to global warming.

Many people think climate change is a global issue and that only governments can solve it. However, the truth is that we all have a role. If we save electricity, plant trees, reduce waste, and use less plastic, we can help the environment.

Young people can play a huge role. They can raise awareness, use new ideas, and inspire others to live in a greener way. Schools and families should also teach children to love and protect nature.

At the same time, governments must take strong steps. They should utilise more renewable energy, enhance public transportation, and support individuals affected by floods or cyclones.

Climate change is not just about nature-it is about our own lives and future. If we take care of the earth, the earth will take care of us.
