Combating second pandemic wave
September 24, 2020 00:00:00
The government's plan to face the possible second wave of the coronavirus outbreak is appreciable but appears to be reactive. Physicians will be assigned to provide medicare if the virus spreads, and its accompanying conditions such as increase in asthma pneumonia and influenza during the winter should also be part of the treatment. People will be asked to use masks and enforcement will be ensured, according to the plan.
However, reduction of pollution level could be made part of the programme during the winter. There should be new messages and knowledge sharing campaigns so that people are ready to prevent the spread of the virus. Of course, another important aspect of the preparation is economic wellbeing of the people of all walks of life. Many people are suffering from mental fatigue and they may suffer more unless programmes to support them are taken now.
