Complying with health protocols in schools

October 23, 2021 00:00:00

After nearly one and a half years gap, most of our educational institutions have reopened. In-person classes have brought much excitement to the students, who were very happy to be back in school after a prolonged shutdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic. No doubt, offline classes have several advantages over online classes as clearing of doubts and solving difficulties is better when classes are held in a physical mode. Students get to meet their friends and classmates, and play with them. Many parents have reportedly expressed appreciation over their children attending physical classes. However, some of them claimed that they are not taken into confidence, and are concerned about the safety of students as children are still not vaccinated.

It goes without saying that the safety of students as far as Covid-19 infection is concerned is of paramount importance. Hence parents and teachers need to be in constant touch with one another. Educational institutions should be particular about maintaining all the health protocols like wearing masks and sanitisation. Any student with even mild symptoms of viral infection needs to be tested for coronavirus, and not sent to school if tested positive.
