Dengue patients on the rise

Some dailies have reported that the number of Dengue patients in Dhaka city crossed 250 in the month of June. Among them, three died. Three others were diagnosed with Chikungunya. Within the first four days of July, 93 new patients have been hospitalised. Some healthcare experts fear that by March of this year the Dengue outbreak may be more extensive.

As a citizen of Dhaka, I would like to request the two city corporations to step up their mosquito control activities during the rainy season. Aedes mosquitoes tend to breed in clear water. Also, people can prevent Dengue from their households by keeping the surrounding clean.
