Drive to stop gambling

The government has taken some actions against illegal casinos in Dhaka that are a breeding ground of drugs and crimes. A section of influential people is involved in this racket and it would not be easy to tackle the issue but the Prime Minister said the government would be tough on them. It is unfortunate that no action was taken until the head of government acted. Quite surprisingly, a number of casinos have grown here and there in the Dhaka city. Unless the state takes action to stop any activity that promotes corruption, our society cannot be free from corrupt practices. We hope, actions would be taken against some other illegal businesses to establish fair practice and support genuine entrepreneurs.
