Ekushey Book Fair-2018

I had been to the Ekushey Book Fair and saw for myself the amount of enthusiasm it has already generated among the citizens of Dhaka. I saw people in large numbers were streaming in and crowding around different stalls. It was nice to see that most people were moving to find their favourite books and not just for sight seeing. Already there was an air of festival around them and I am sure festivity will assume greater proportions with time as there would be more publications on the shelves. The cultural programme at the Fair is an added attraction for the visitors. Media reports have it that this year the Ekushey Book Fair will be a larger fair in terms of participation of publishing houses and both organizers and publishers expect a good number of quality publications to be published in the month long event.

Ekushey Book Fair is an annual event that makes indelible impressions on peoples' minds. It should be regarded as a blessing for the society as it creates new readerships and instills greater enthusiasm for the authors to contribute more to our literature.
