Ensuring world peace with education

WE often hear heart-wrenching and depressing stories about human sufferings as world powers are engaged in establishing their supremacy through armed conflicts everywhere. Currently we see deadly violence in Syria and Myanmar where hundreds of thousands of innocent men, women and children are being subjected to inhuman persecution and dislodged from their ancestral homes.

Statistics show that in the year 2012 US alone spent a staggering amount of USD 682 billion as defence expenditure which was more than the combined defence budgets of China, Russia, UK, Japan and France. If we spend half of the amount annually for eradicating hunger and illiteracy we can have a more developed world. The sooner the world leaders realized this simple truth the better for us.
