Facebook: A place to hang out

Facebook had 2.32 billion monthly active users during the fourth quarter of 2018. This figure is bigger than the population of China (1.418 billion).

Facebook has become an integral part of our urban life. It is very useful as it is a good and convenient way to stay in touch with our friends and family. Through the social media platform, users can learn about the recent events and developments in the lives of their friends, extended family members and others. Pictures can be shared. Facebook is also a great place to share thoughts, tips and advices.

While these are all good, many users are suffering from Facebook addiction. This is a common trend now-a-days. We need to remember that real life should not be deterred by virtual life. We should limit our Facebook time so that it does not hamper our daily life with family, friends and at work. We should not expose our children to Facebook. We should not post comments, thoughts and pictures randomly on Facebook as this is a public place where such content can hurt the sentiments of others.

People should also not make friends with strangers on Facebook. Social media platforms are now becoming places where many frauds and criminals lurk.
