Germs on currency notes

August 14, 2018 00:00:00

Notes of taka as our local currency are exchanged daily. It helps us buy products and services. Notes of taka are something we draw as remuneration for our hard work at the end of every day or every month.

We usually see the positive and intrinsic side of the currency. But these notes can be harmful for human health. The notes tend to contain different microorganisms that can easily be carried through our hands. Whenever people take dry food without washing their hands, these germs enter our stomach through our dirt-filled hands and/or mouths. These microscopic organisms can infect the human skin, food canals, excretory organs and more. Such organisms can also cause diseases like diarrhoea, dysentery, meningitis, typhoid, hepatitis and more.

Since it is not possible to prevent germs on these notes, users need to be cautious on a personal level. Immediate after touching notes and before taking food items, one should wash hands properly with soap or handwash.
