Giving introverts space

October 06, 2020 00:00:00

Their attitude, interaction, gesture and posture may be visible but not their personality. Until or unless we manage to get permission to enter their inner world, we can hardly know them. One may blame them for their inability to mix with others, but it is nothing but a myth. Perhaps they prefer to stay alone instead of leading a so-called social life.

If someone can come in close contact with an introvert and access his/her comfort zone, s/he would then come to know about her/his actual colour that remains hidden from others. To utter surprise of many, an introvert may even surpass an extrovert in many aspects of life. And paradoxically, introverts aresometimes super-extroverts. They can speak well and for hours that usual extroverts may not be able to do.

However, boredom is the most concerning issue for them but they can also get over it by thinking, reading or going out. They face some problems in maintaining social formalities and thus they love to mingle with near and dear ones. They observe and adapt with the surroundings before making any comments. Also, they may cause to irritate those who they trust blindly.

Introvert people are often found to be talented. In Bangladesh, we often misunderstand such people and fail to mainstream them. Thus both the introverts themselves and society lose. We need to create space for all kinds of people for building a vibrant society.
