Grim situation at the share market

April 21, 2019 00:00:00

Almost all investors had thought after the national elections last year, the share market would finally see some stability and small and medium investors would regain their confidence about the market. To facilitate the process, the National Board of Revenue (NBR) declared that taxpayer identification number would not be required to open beneficiary owners' account for investment. But this did not help in anyway. Panicked by relentless falls in the share market, many investors are still selling off their shares. This has led to a slowdown in the market.

I hope the stock exchange authority will ensure measures that will restore confidence among the investors in the share market. They can conduct awareness sessions and workshops for investors where they will be taught the basics of investment in the share market.

Most of the investors have no idea how this business runs. They invest simply on speculation and rumours. By doing so, they face losses.

Successful share trading requires patience and observation power.
