Helping flood victims

People in the country's central and northern regions have been facing effects of floods amid the coronavirus crisis. The flood victims have lost their crops and other properties while the poor and wage earners have lost their livelihoods. There is a forecast that another round of floods may affect different parts of the country in late September.

Meanwhile, the government and other orgasnisations have distributed relief materials. But this year's situation is a bit different. The government should undertake special programme to rehabilitate flood victims and turn the crisis into opportunities for the post-pandemic period.
