Hurling brick chunks at moving trains

A four-year-child named Jishan and his mother received head injuries on May 06 after they were hit with stones hurled by miscreants at the Padma Express train. At the moment, the child is battling for his life at a hospital.

On May 07, the railways minister Nurul Islam Sujan requested everyone to build awareness to prevent incidents of throwing brick chunks at trains.

While urging the law enforcers to identify such criminals, the minister called upon those living near the rail lines to remain alert about the criminals and hand over them to the law enforcers.

This is indeed a serious crime. A few years back, a young female student had similarly been killed. She was sleeping inside a moving train near one of its windows when a brick chunk hit her on the head. She succumbed to her injury within less than an hour.

I hope the rail authorities will be able to make progress at stopping this through their awareness campaign. I also hope that Jishan will recover soon.
