Illegal migrant workers need government help
February 06, 2014 00:00:00
Many Bangladeshi illegal migrant workers in Malaysia and Saudi Arabia have been facing an uncertain future and are afraid of being deported. These two countries, recently, have launched crackdowns against illegal workers. The government should immediately intervene in the matter and help these people. If they are deported to home, their families will be in great financial problem. Aspirants from our country spend huge amount of money for migration and usually, it takes them more than two years to recover their investment. The illegal migrant workers also play a significant role in our economy. So, we cannot remain inactive when they are in distress. The Bangladeshi consulates of Malaysia and Saudi Arabia should play active roles so that the illegal Bangladeshi migrants can get the opportunity to be legalised. Staying in a foreign country illegally is really nerve wracking. I hope Bangladesh government will take urgent action to help the Bangladeshi migrants from being deported from Malaysia and Saudi Arabia.
