Japan's Abe still apologises!

August 30, 2020 00:00:00

It's surprising how Shinzo Abe led Japan as the longest serving prime minister in the country's recent history with so much physical challenges. He tried to bring Japan out of economic recession exacerbated by the coronavirus crisis. Reports of his resignation prior to announcement affected the stock market.

He was candid in admitting that his health was affecting his judgement. His health deteriorated also because of his hard work as he often ignored the physicians' advice to take rest. Despite years of services, Shinzo Abe still apologised to the Japanese people for failure to complete his tenure. In a country that saw frequent fall of cabinet as a normal phenomenon, he offered an exceptional stability. He also showed democratic spirit during his departure.
