Making MFS affordable

The government has brought down the charges it paid to mobile financial service companies for reaching the money of social safety nets to their beneficiaries. According to a finance ministry order, the government would pay Tk 7.0 for sending Tk 1,000 through bKash, Rocket and Nagad, whereas for the common people the rates would remain the same, which is higher.

This is discriminatory in the first place. Also, the rates for mobile financial transactions are said to be high and people use them only when compelled to do so. So, there is an issue of rationalisation of charges for making them affordable and ensure that more people can use MFS. We hope the authorities would address this issue.
