Noise pollution in Dhaka

July 03, 2018 00:00:00

Noise pollution is bad for human health. The main reason is hydraulic horns that are used rampantly here. The noise level of any busy Dhaka street is around 60 to 80 decibel (dB), much more than the safe level.

World Health Organisation says a sound level of 60 dB can cause temporary deafness and 100 dB can cause complete deafness. We can change this situation by generating awareness about noise pollution caused by hydraulic horns and other practices.
