On question paper leaks

February 21, 2018 00:00:00

EVERY day we hear about leaking of question papers. People at the helm of affairs are definitely accountable for the phenomenon. Leadership is an important issue here when there appears to be little or no control over the situation.

As a student, I personally feel that lack of control over the state of affairs and hidden ulterior motives are both responsible for the widespread leaks. Every question paper of the first five of the ongoing SSC exams was leaked. People behind leaks also declared that the maths question would be released an hour before the exam schedule. Most of the questions were released by using the social media and Facebook was one of them. In fact, Facebook was the only media that carried 90 per cent of the leaked questions.

I quote the message posted on the Facebook that reads "Here I would try to give you some of the part of questions in hand which is in written form by night, while the multiple choice questions with solutions will be given on the exam morning. SSC Helper 2018 is a Facebook group which is quite popular now. "Be a member of the group if you want to get it," written by one user before maths exam in a Facebook message.

This has been happening for a few years now, but no solution is in sight. Only a quality leader can control the situation and bring a solution. Arresting a few students would lead us nowhere.
