Preserving mental well-being

June 18, 2021 00:00:00

The Covid-19 pandemic has not only taken its toll physically but has also affected our mental health. Students, who have been stuck into their homes, are suffering from depression and uncertainty. A noticeable increase in mental illness among the youths has been witnessed. Suicidal tendency has alarmingly risen among many of them. However, in a country like Bangladesh, issues like this are taken quite lightly and mental health and wellbeing is never a priority here.

In order to cope with such an illness, one needs to transform their daily lifestyle: exercise regularly, eat healthy, practise meditation or pray and indulge in things you enjoy. Since many people find it hard to seek professional help, these tips can help people fight illnesses like depression, and anxiety. Moreover, parents should try and bridge the communication gap they have with their children and create a safe and open environment at home.
