Provide quality food at CU halls

October 22, 2024 00:00:00

Chittagong University is a beautiful university with a large spacious campus, but beauty does not quench students' hunger. Quality food is essential for satisfying both hunger and thirst. Just as a good environment is important for effective study, nutritious food is crucial for students' well-being. Poor nutrition weakens a student physically, making them prone to various illnesses, which negatively affects their studies, exams, and results.

Unfortunately, the food served in the halls of Chittagong University is of such poor quality that it is hard to describe. The rice is substandard; the cooked dal (lentil) resembles river water, and tastes even worse. The portions of fish and chicken are as small as small seeds, and the meals are utterly tasteless. Students from lower-middle-class families are forced to consume this subpar food just to get by! The quality of food in the hall is deteriorating day by day, leading to great frustration among students. Despite numerous complaints, the university administration has remained indifferent.

A new administration has recently taken charge, and we make a humble request to the authorities to improve the quality of food in the hall as soon as possible.

Md. Riyad Uddin

Student, University of Chittagong
