Requesting doctors to refrain from unethical practices

The art of healing is a noble profession. As doctors heal diseases, they are respected in society.

Recently, it was reported by some dailies that a group of unscrupulous doctors take bribes and different gifts/facilities such as monthly allowance, air conditioners, expensive cosmetic products for their wives, air-tickets for attending foreign seminar and private car etc., from new pharmaceutical companies. In return, they prescribe drugs of inferior quality produced by these companies to the patients.

As a result, patients become victims of side-effects of poor quality drugs instead of quick recovery from diseases. I would like to humbly request the doctors to refrain from such immoral activities. I also hope the Ministry of Health and Directorate of Health Services will take steps to investigate into the matter.
