Return of 'no trace' former envoy

ng the news that Maroof Zaman returned home. The former Bangladesh ambassador to Vietnam went missing more than 15 months ago.

Many more families are waiting for their missing family members to return. When a member of a family is missing, the whole family goes through excruciating pain. The return of Maroof Zaman brings hope to the minds of many families who are waiting for their near ones to come back.

We have fought for our freedom so that we can build a just society where there will be no fear and oppression. I hope other disappeared people will also return to their families and we will see an end to 'disappearance'.

We cannot claim ourselves living in civilised society if people continue to go missing.
