Robbery at minister's farm

January 28, 2018 00:00:00

FROM reports published in a section of online news portals, I came to know that 10 cows from a dairy farm owned by Primary and Mass Education Minister Mostafizur Rahman were taken away by robbers in Phulbari upazila under Dinajpur district in early hours of Saturday. The cows were worth TK 1.5 million.

According to the reports, a group of four robbers broke open the lock of the farm's entrance, tied the caretaker of the farm and took away the cows.

The minister who is also the local lawmaker, was in his constituency when the incident took place.

My question is if a minister's farm is not secured from robbers then what about the properties owned by common men of the country. Is it the sign of a deteriorating law and order situation?

One of the top most priorities of the government is to protect the lives and properties of the citizens of the country but incidents like this instilled a sense of fear among ordinary people.

We hope the authorities will take due immediate action to ensure safety of properties of all the citizens of the country and erase such fears from public mind.
