Second wave before vaccine?
September 09, 2020 00:00:00
The report that India has overtaken Brazil as the second most coronavirus-infected country after the United States is alarming for Bangladesh as a neighbouring country. Even if the border is sealed, Bangladesh faces risks like that of India, in view of cultural similarities. We've read that many people in Bangladesh's urban areas are not following health protocols.
This is the situation when the world is yet to find a proven coronavirus vaccine. Countries like Canada have seen a second wave of Covid-19 but Bangladesh is still struggling with an unclear situation. Responsible public statements are important to keep the situation under control. From distance, we fear, lest our people at home suffer for lack of cautionary measures.
