Significance of warm water

February 13, 2018 00:00:00

AS summer is approaching fast, very soon we shall see increasing number of people in urban areas going for refrigerated rather than normal water. But an infinitesimally small portion of our population is aware of the health benefits of drinking warm water. Medical sciences of both Indian Ayurvedaic and ancient Chinese medicine confirmed that drinking warm water was best for human health. Modern medical sciences also speak hardly in favour of drinking cold and refrigerated water. Doctors today also advise water at room temperature. When we drink cold water, our body gets busy to regulate our body temperature instead of working for quick digestion of food. In other words, we should not put extra load on our digestive system by taking water or soft drinks with higher than room temperature.

Experts believe that warm water is great for internal 'cleansing'. In addition to providing our body with the water it needs to replenish fluids, drinking warm water can improve our digestion, relieve congestion, and even make us feel more relaxed.

It regulates bowel movement and prevents constipation and makes our skin to glow. Warm water also helps prevent phlegm accumulation too. Where Regular water takes around 6 hours to get absorbed in our body, warm water takes only half the time. So let us avoid drinking cold water and develop a habit of drinking warm water to enjoy better health.
