Soaring heat and exhausted city dwellers
May 13, 2019 00:00:00
A heat wave is sweeping our country. The common people are suffering the most. Rain can bring some solace to the people fasting in the holy month of Ramadan.
Many parts of the city are facing water crisis. We should be thrifty in using water so that we do not face a water problem. Often we squander our water but we should remember that water is a finite resource.
During Ramadan, we see the number of patients increase in hospitals with heat-related diseases, like diarrhoea, dehydration, nausea, heat exhaustion and viral fever. As the heat is rising, we should be careful with our diet and stay away from street foods as they may upset our stomach and create digestion problem.
