Stop common room culture

September 27, 2024 00:00:00

The common room culture in public universities is a damaging practice that negatively affects the university environment. It disrupts the healthy and enriching atmosphere of student halls, turning them into overcrowded, unsanitary spaces that resemble slums. With eight to ten people crammed into a room designed for just two or three, the study environment is destroyed, and students become vulnerable to serious illnesses.

Additionally, common rooms breed conflict, leading to frequent arguments, group tensions, fights, and even violence. These issues severely damage the quality of student life. Therefore, the general students of universities are making a sincere appeal to the new university administrations to end the common room culture without delay.
