The lengthy process of getting passport

Getting a passport is a lengthy process. The passport office in Dhaka is full of middlemen and touts who harass the people who go there for a passport. A section of officials of the passport office encourages them so that they too can earn some quick bucks. Sometimes the law enforcers raid and arrest middlemen but soon they come out and restart their activities.

Duplicating an ID card is very easy. Anyone with little expertise in computer can make it in no time. A digital database of the entire population will make the work of government much easier.

I urge the government to make the whole process of issuing passport online and increase validity of passports to ten years.
