Too many books for primary students
February 18, 2019 00:00:00
In the primary schools there is a bad tendency of allotting too many books to children and it is creating unnecessary pressure on the young minds. As we can see, in elementary classes--in playgroup and KG one-- a student is studying, and carrying to school, a numerous number of books. Such pressure since a very early age creates panic in the minds of young students.
Education should be fun but now it has become a never-ending drudgery. More books for children mean more business for schools and book publishers. Children should have sometime for play and fun as 'all work and no fun' can have a lasting negative impact on their upbringing.
According to experts, children need ten hours of sleep every day. Only about 15 per cent are getting the sleep they need. Proper rest and playtime are important for their mental and physical health.
I hope the concerned authority will consider this matter and suggest and monitor how many books a primary school student should be given.
