Water-logging worries

People in the capital undergoing the woes of water-logging in almost every year have already started bracing for the scourge. These days, a brief downpour during pre-monsoon or monsoon days leaves many major and minor roads inundated. Water-logging afflicts scores of low-lying areas. It is only March. The rain-dominant stormy season normally begins in April. The two city corporations and the related authorities had made many pledges to keep Dhaka free of the menace this year. Everyone in the city looks forward to them, hoping they will deliver on their promises. The residents of Dhaka have long reached their tether's end when it comes to water-logging.
