Ways of reducing environmental pollution

June 26, 2021 00:00:00

The climatic condition all over the world is worsening every year. Environmental pollution today tells a sad tale of human intervention with Nature's ways. Not only the weather cycles in different parts of the world have been disturbed, but unexpected natural calamities like cyclone, tsunami, earthquake, melting glaciers, dust storms, indicate that Nature can take no more human disturbance.

If we want to reduce environmental pollution, we all have to contribute wherever it is possible. A tax has to be levied on the use of fossil fuels. With this tax money, we will have to promote clean energy sources including solar panels. Instead of polythene bags, we must start using biodegradable things like jute bags. Unfit vehicles that emit carbon dioxide, lead, carbon monoxide, and other harmful chemicals must be taken out of the streets. Afforestation programmes need to be expanded on a priority basis. Every factory has to have treatment plants and must not dump their waste into rivers and canals. Farmers need to be made aware of the unplanned use of chemical fertilisers and pesticides in their farmlands.
