Why are buildings without fire safety system?

Reportedly, there are around 4,000 high-rises in Dhaka city. However, most of these buildings lack fire safety measures. The Fire Service and Civil Defence has found a number of fire safety lapses in the upscale building that caught fire in Dhaka's Gulshan recently. The death of two persons and injuries to several others shows how vulnerable our high-rise buildings are.

It has been alleged by many that most buildings in Dhaka city are built in violation of the original design. In the original design, the owners show proper fire safety measures, but during construction, they deviate from the plan. So, we urge the authorities concerned to sincerely look into the issue and do the needful.
