Youth entrepreneurship and part time job

February 09, 2025 00:00:00

Youth unemployment is a growing concern in Bangladesh, despite economic progress. Many young people are facing difficulty securing jobs or starting businesses due to a lack of resources and opportunities. Encouraging youth-based businesses and expanding part-time job opportunities can help address this issue.

Collaboration between the government and private sector is essential to provide skill development programmes, startup funding, and mentorship. The rise of digital platforms and e-commerce also presents new opportunities for flexible employment, allowing students and young professionals to gain experience and earn income simultaneously. Additionally, promoting technical and vocational training in line with industry demands can equip young people with practical skills, making them more employable in both local and international markets.

Universities should introduce business incubation centres to support innovative ideas and entrepreneurship, while financial institutions can play a role by offering youth-friendly loan schemes to aspiring entrepreneurs. Policymakers must also work towards creating a regulatory environment that encourages startups and small businesses to thrive. Creating an environment that nurtures young talent will not only reduce unemployment but also drive long-term economic growth. A stronger focus on youth-driven economic initiatives can lead to a more prosperous and self-reliant future for Bangladesh.
