Announcement of govt soon

The interim government will issue a proclamation within a few days to mark the student-led popular uprising in the month of July.

"We hope that the July proclamation will be presented before the nation within a few days after consultations with all stakeholders, political parties and students who led the uprising," said Shafiqul Alam, press secretary to the chief adviser, at a briefing on Monday.

"This proclamation will be adopted to consolidate the unity of people, anti-fascist spirit and aspiration for state reforms. The declaration will outline the foundation of unity and reflect the people's aspirations."

It may be mentioned that the student platform, Anti Discrimination Student Movement, which steered the July revolution, is set to announce its July proclamation on the Shaheed Minar premises today. But on Sunday, the interim government said the proclamation by students has nothing to do with them.

"This is a private initiative. We are treating it as a private matter. It is not related to the government, and there is no involvement of the government," the press secretary told reporters.
