BIAC for ADR module in law exam
Bangladesh International Arbitration Centre (BIAC) has urged the Bangladesh Bar Council to incorporate ADR module in the syllabus of written examination to admit persons as advocates on its roll. BIAC made the plea when Secretary of the Bangladesh Bar Council and Senior District & Sessions Judge Md. Rafiqul Islam visited the BIAC Secretariat in the city recently. Page 9
Judge orders Trump to pay $2.0m
A New York judge has ordered President Donald Trump to pay $2m (£1.6m) for misusing funds from his charity to finance his 2016 political campaign. The Donald J Trump Foundation closed down in 2018. Prosecutors had accused it of working as "little more than a chequebook" for Mr Trump's interests. Page 18
Eight off to Nagpur to join Tigers' squad
Eight players left the city on Friday to join the Bangladesh squad in Nagpur in India. They will play in the two-match Test series. The players are - Saif Hassan, Imrul Kayes, Shadman Islam, Mominul Haque, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Abu Jayed Rahi, Ebadat Hossain and Nayeem Hasan. Saif got the national call for the first time while the others are regular faces in Test cricket. Page 15
