CSE asked to resume Rahima Food trading

The securities regulator has asked the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) to resume share trading of Rahima Food Corporation. At the same time, the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) has asked the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) to explain its position on the decision executed by de-listing the company from the main trading board. The BSEC delivered the instruction on Thursday through separate letters sent to the managing directors of both the bourses. Page 9

Airports attacked as Ethiopia rift worsens

Thee Ethiopian government says forces in the northern state of Tigray have fired rockets into a neighbouring region. Tension between the government and the Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF), which controls Tigray, boiled over into military clashes this month. The rocket attack damaged "airport areas", the government said. The TPLF has not confirmed responsibility, but has said "any airport used to attack Tigray" is a "legitimate target". Page 11

Bangabandhu T20 Cup kick-off on Nov 24

The much-anticipated Bangabandhu T20 Cup to mark the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman will kick-start on November 24.The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) released the itinerary of the five-team T20 tournament on Saturday. As per the itinerary, two matches will be held everyday. Page 12

‘10m tonnes of maize output’ in five yrs

The government has taken initiatives to raise maize production to 10 million tonnes within the next five years, said agriculture minister Dr Muhammad Abdur Razzaque on Friday. "The country has immense potential for maize production. We have invented high yielding variety of maize considering our favourable climate. We are providing modern technology to the farmers that will help boost maize production many times, "he said as the chief guest at a virtual meeting on Friday night. Page 16
