He will attend Boao Forum

FE REPORT | March 07, 2025 00:00:00

Dr Muhammad Yunus

Chief Adviser of Bangladesh's interim government Dr Muhammad Yunus is likely to visit China on March 26- 28, officials said, adding that details of the tour have yet to be finalised.

The Chief Adviser may start for China on the evening of March 26, after attending the Independence Day programme in Dhaka, sources said.

He would attend the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Annual Conference 2025, which will be held on March 25-28 in Boao in south China's Hainan Province.

It is learnt that the decision to attend the Forum was finalised a couple of days ago as when China invited the CA to the programme several weeks ago, the Bangladesh side did not give any positive response.

Even when asked, the foreign adviser also told the media recently that there was no schedule for the CA to go to China too soon.

With the theme 'Asia in the Changing World: Towards a Shared Future', this year's meet will focus on development, fostering dialogue, exploring innovative formats, and valuing tangible outcomes.

A non-governmental and non-profit international organisation, the Boao Forum for Asia is conceived as a forum for leaders in government, business and academia in Asia and other continents to promote and deepen economic exchange, coordination, and cooperation within Asia and between Asia and other parts of the world.
