Sheikh Mohammad Maroof, Managing Director of Dhaka Bank PLC, has tendered his resignation, citing personal reasons.
"Yes, I have resigned. There was no issue. I took the decision on personal grounds. I will take some time off," Mr. Maroof told The Financial Express (FE), confirming the development.
Mr. Maroof took charge of the bank management following the death of its previous managing director Emranul Huq. Prior to this, he served at The City Bank as the Additional Managing Director and Chief Business Officer.
"We'll discuss the matter at our next board meeting scheduled to be held on August 19," Abdul Hai Sarker, chairman of Dhaka Bank, told the FE while replying to a query.
