EC draft puts voters at over 104.05m

The number of total voters in the country at present is 10,40,51,883, according to the updated draft voter list published by the Election Commission (EC) Tuesday. The total number of voters has gone up by 2,29,64,880 since 2008, EC's Acting Secretary Helaluddin Ahmed said. According to the voter list updated in 2008, the figure was 8,10,87,003. Anyone having any objection in this regard will have to contact the EC by January 17 as the lists are displayed at important places in districts, upazilas and unions. Among the new voters, the information of 33,32,593 were collected in 2017 and 9,62,296 in 2016. Names of 17,48,934 dead voters were deleted from the lists. Among the total voters, 5,24,62,865 are male and 5,15,89,018 are female. The final voter list will be published
