The holy Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated in the country on June 7 as the moon of the holy month of Zilhaj of 1446 Hijri was sighted in the sky of Bangladesh on Wednesday, reports BSS.
The decision came following a meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee held at the Islamic Foundation's (IF) conference room at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in the city on Wednesday evening, said an IF press release.
The Newspaper Owners' Association of Bangladesh (NOAB) announced a five-day holiday for newspaper offices from June 5 to 9 on the occasion.
As a result, no newspapers will be published from June 6 to 10. This time, the government has declared a 10-day Eid vacation.
