Politicians across the board extended on Wednesday unqualified support when head of the interim government Dr Muhammad Yunus called for forging a national unity to thwart bids of vested quarters through their fabricated narratives to block the effort for rebuilding Bangladesh.
Addressing a meeting with the representatives of political parties, the Chief Adviser alerted that this unity to counter the "false narrative is crucial to the existence of the nation as the evil attempts are not limited to one country".
At present attempts are being made to replace the real picture of Bangladesh with a fabricated picture, he noted, in the wake of a chain of recent incidents beyond borders, particularly Bangladesh mission troubles and invectives in neighbouring India.
"This is not only limited to one country only, it spreads among some big countries, too, because those who do not like this grand revolution of ours want to erase it, to hide it," he told the politicians.
"They want to present Bangladesh from a new angle by propagating that a huge terrible incident took place in country and it requires protection, and they will be the protector," the head of interim government said explaining the fabricated narratives spread by the vested-interest quarters.
He made it clear that speaking out the truth about the country by all the political parties in unison is imperative for the existence of the nation.
"We need to be united to present the true narrative to prove that they are propagating false narrative. "This is not the question of any particular political belief, it is the question of our existence as a nation," he said.
Various types of attempts are being unleashed to reverse the achievement of the mass upsurge, he added.
"We have celebrated for our achievement in July and we are supposed to celebrate more this month. But many do not like this new freedom, new independence which we achieved through the July revolution led by the students.
"You all know better than I do how many incidents took place after August 5."
He said against such backdrop, the government apprehended that more troubles would come during the Durga Puja, and so the government had urged all sections of people to remain united and vigilant to thwart such attempts.
And due to the united efforts of all quarters the puja was celebrated peacefully, with huge festivity and fanfare across the country, he noted.
But that also was not liked by many and more attempts are being taken to create trouble.
They want to go back to the previous regime, and for that, they are presenting an imaginary picture of Bangladesh.
"They are so powerful and resourceful that they apparently made some success in creating confusion among some people about us though there is n room for confusion.
"We have repeatedly told everyone to come and visit Bangladesh to see the real picture here. Here there is no curb on people's movement, on freedom of expression," he said.
The Chief Adviser stressed the urgency of showing the world that the people of Bangladesh are united and what achieved through the revolution was the "common aspiration of all of us.
Later speaking to the media, leaders of the political parties who attended to consultation said they lent full support to this government would stand united against any external interference in Bangladesh's internal affairs.
"No scope to be weak-kneed in the face of any outside threat," law adviser Prof Asif Nazrul quoted the politicians having told the interim government.
Holding an all-party solidarity rally in support of the government in confronting exigent challenges from outside was proposed during the meeting.
A proposal on a review of all deals with India and undoing those against national interests was also mooted during the political dialogue.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) said they sought building consensus among the political parties in national interest and defending the country's independence and sovereignty.
The party also expressed its views for announcing election roadmap after completing necessary reforms.
The former ruling party made the observations during the meeting with the Chief Adviser, Dr Muhammad Yunus, at the State Guesthouse Jamuna in the capital.
After the meeting was over, BNP standing-committee-member Dr Khandakar Mosharraf Hossain briefed the media at the Foreign Service Academy about the outcome of the meeting.
He said that it is the responsibility of all to extend support to the interim government.
He said deposed PM Sheikh Hasina, "sitting in India, is constantly hatching conspiracy" against the country.
"We have agreed with the interim government that we would foil conspiracies being hatched by the fallen fascist (Sheikh Hasina) and her collaborators against the country," he told the journalists.
About election he said," The interim government is committed to giving back people's rights. We have said to the government for announcing national election roadmap after completing necessary reforms," he said.
The part thinks if the election roadmap is declared, then people will be "on election mode and conspirators will no longer get chance to hatch conspiracy further".
