Fakhrul, Khasru to attend Trump's breakfast event

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Standing Committee Member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury are set to travel to the United States to attend a special breakfast hosted by US President Donald Trump.

According to sources, both senior BNP leaders will leave Bangladesh on February 02.

During their stay in the US, they will attend a dinner on February 5 and the breakfast event on February 06.

"We will leave Dhaka on February 02 via Emirates Airlines to attend the scheduled programmes," Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury told The Financial Express (FE).

He said they may also participate in some meetings on the sidelines of the events during the visit. The BNP leaders are expected to return to Dhaka after February 10.

Bangladesh and the United States maintain strong bilateral trade relations for long. The US is the single largest importer of Bangladeshi garments while Bangladesh also imports various goods from the world's largest economy.
