Family files two cases

CHATTOGRAM, Nov 30: Two separate cases have been filed by father and brother of slain Advocate Saiful Islam Alif over his brutal killing.
Police said Jamal Uddin, father of Alif, lodged a murder case with Kotwali police station on Friday night against 31 persons on a charge of killing his son.
Khan E Alam, brother of the victim, registered a case against 116 persons on charges of carrying out vandalism and attacks on lawyers.
Saiful was killed in clashes that broke out among police, lawyers and supporters of former ISKCON leader Chinmoy Krishna Das on the court area here on November 26, when the court rejected his bail in a sedition case.
Deputy Commissioner (Media) Kazi Md Tareq Aziz said some 15 unidentified suspects were also accused in the murder case.
Earlier, police filed three cases and rounded up 35 people in connection with the violence.
