Fire breaks out at Sabbir Tower in Purana Paltan

A fire broke out on the top floor of multi-storied buiding ---Sabbir Tower ---at Purana Paltan in the capital on Saturday night.

"The fire was reported around 8:25pm. Seven firefighting units of the Fire Service and Civil Defence were deployed to bring the blaze under control," a duty officer at the Fire Service headquarters told The Financial Express.

Later, one more unit joined the rescue operation, according to the official.

"No casualties so far have been reported," he said, adding that the cause behind the fire remained unknown.
