Kalshi canal!

With its surface remaining cemented with garbage and a large part lost to grabbers, the Kalshi canal (Dhaka WASA has named it 'Sangbadik Khal') is all silted up. During the ongoing dry season, almost all, including DWASA and relevant other agencies, have forgotten about the sufferings that thousands of residents have to endure because of severe and recurrent water-logging in the greater part of Mirpur-Pallabi during monsoon. Locals say the DWASA must remove now silt from both kutcha and pucca parts of the canal alongside the drive to evict the grabbers. — FE photo by KAZ Sumon
