Literacy Day today

The International Literacy Day will be observed in the country as elsewhere across the globe today (Sunday). The theme of this year's day is 'Literacy and Multilingualism'. Different government and private organisations have chalked out various programmes on the occasion. The International Literacy Day is celebrated throughout the world marking the 54th anniversary of the World Congress of Ministers of Education on the Eradication of Illiteracy, held in Tehran, Iran in 1965. — UNB
